Organizing My Life With Awesome Note

awesomenote_opening

This must be one of the best iTunes app I’ve ever bought.  And it must be because I’ve got a thing on organizers, whether it be paper or digital ones.

Awesome Note (together with iSilo) made my iPod Touch the best gadget for work and for personal use.

I’ve used Awesome Note to store my MROD (Medical Resident On Duty) Notes, which is a collection of formulas used to compute drips, corrected lab values, and criteria for diagnosing different diseases.  I love how the app is searchable, making it easy for me to find the note I need.  I use the iSilo for the lengthier articles that I find online which help my medical practice, like journal articles from different medical specialties (especially those which I’m interested in).

Here’s how it looks like with all the notes shown as if they were posted on a bulletin board.

With the different backgrounds available, each note could be made unique.

I especially like this blackboard-like background template.  Reminds me of school and it’s a great template for my MROD notes!  Reminds me that I need to learn these things hehe.

And for sensitive data, one could put a passcode on a particular note.

And, of course, the more data you have, the more categories you’d need to better segregate them.  One can add as many folders and even change the folder icon and color!

The best part, perhaps, is the ability to sync my iPod Touch data with Google Docs.  One can also keep a backup copy of the entire notes collection.  And, of course, with the offline Google Docs application, one can have a backup copy of the notes in one’s laptop or desktop computer.

One can also choose which notes to be imported from or exported to Google Docs!

IMHO, this has been a very versatile iPod Touch application and it really is just what I need to keep myself organized, especially in my very busy schedule as a medical resident.  Even if it’s about $3.99, it’s very much worth it.  If you want to experience the application but ain’t ready to shell out that much money just yet, you can try out the free version.
